There’s one reason to spend the night or in this case, the day in Subic and that reason is Meat Plus. Subic is just a 3-hour short drive from Manila, shorter still if you’re traveling by car via SCTEX. I just happened to crave for Meat Plus’ Roast Beef Belly early one Saturday morning so I told the troop to get ready as we were leaving to have lunch in Subic.
On our way to Subic. MG holding a Human Heart Nature Mosquito Repellant. We love its scent.
While her brother tries to study and review for an exam that week.
It was just a little under 9am when we left and traffic was light.
We arrived there just before 12 and the place was just starting to fill up. I purposely planned to get there before lunch as Meat Plus gets too crowded during lunchtime and waiting for a table sometimes takes forever. Good thing we were given a table immediately.
Meat Plus combo meals normally come with soup and drinks. The soup is always good and hot.
The dessert came first. This is perhaps one of the best chocolate cake ever. It’s moist and not too sweet which I like. The serving is good for sharing…not that it’s huge but it’s quite rich. Just a few bites are enough to satisfy any person with a sweet tooth.
This is a rather new offering at the restaurant. It was our first time to taste the potato skin which came with a bowl of cheese dip. It was good. I had to stop eating coz there were more food coming. I had to make room for Roast Beef Belly.
MG’s order of Spaghetti and Burger Combo Meal. The burger, as expected, was delicious. Meat Plus is known for their meats, specifically steaks, so it’s not surprising that the burger is juicy and all meat. The spaghetti was just ok.
My Roast Beef Belly. Sorry I forgot to take a pic before I dug in. I lost my bearing for a second there. So this might not look appetizing at all but believe, the beef belly here is tasty, tender and I can’t describe it anymore without salivating. It’s downright GOOD. This is a must-try when you happen to chance upon the place while in Subic.
Hickory Spareribs w/ Java Rice Meal. That was my son’s order as he loves spareribs. The Java rice that came with it was not to his liking so he got half of my rice and mixed it with his Java.
The trip to Subic was all about Meat Plus. After having our lunch, we didn’t even bother to go to Royal Subic which has always been part of our Subic itinerary. We arrived in Manila just before 3pm just before the weekend traffic got any worse.
